Job Title: School Counseling Secretary and Clinic Assistant Hybrid Part-Time (PHS)

 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Classification: Classified

 

Reports to: Principal

Summary

This hybrid position supports the school counseling staff and the school clinic staff. This secretary will serve as the point of contact for visitors and phone contacts to the school counseling office or clinic as assigned daily. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

blood-borne pathogens. Attends annual required training for clinic staff.

 

Qualifications 

Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality of student and staff information.

Ability to work effectively with staff, students, parents, and supervisory staff.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Effective computer skills with proficiency in electronic mail, Excel, and Word software.

Ability to operate basic office machines such as a copier, fax, postage meter, and multi-line phone system.

Ability to meet multiple deadlines, handle multiple tasks, and work under pressure.

Ability to organize and improve job functions.

 

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma

Business or computer courses and/or prior school or secretarial experience preferred.

 

Language Skills

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

 

Reasoning/Other Abilities

Ability to initiate and/or improve required tasks.

Ability to learn and utilize school administrative and maintenance software systems.

Ability to understand and follow written or verbal instructions.

 

Physical Demands

Able to walk to all points in the building.

Perform minor physical tasks such as lifting and filing.

Normal vision and hearing.

Ability to clearly communicate orally.
