Summary

Support student learning of Technology, Computer Science and STEM in age appropriate creative activities, while collaborating with General Education Teachers as part of the Resource Teacher rotation. This position is designed to introduce and appropriately develop student knowledge using a variety of educational technologies including Chromebooks, web based instructional coding sites and other STEM based technologies. Adaptability to learn and research new technologies and educational trends as related to STEM and computer coding to support student learning. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. 

 

Qualifications

Must hold appropriate Virginia Teaching License with the appropriate endorsement in assigned subject area.

 

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of parents or public.

 

Reasoning/Other Abilities

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions.  Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

 

Physical Demands

Work involves operation of office equipment and limited physical tasks.  Above-average amount of walking, bending, standing, stooping, and lifting in a classroom environment.

Evaluation

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of licensed personnel.  Setting SMART goals and maintaining a Documentation Log are required methods of providing evidence of performance related to the specific performance standards required by the Code of Virginia.
